Avon Fights Back

For 135 years Avon has been helping you with all your beauty needs, but did you know that in 1992 we also began to help with breast health? Avon has partnered with The American Cancer Society to help raise awareness, fund research, and help those battling breast cancer. Read on to find out how we have and are continuing to help fight for the cause!

1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. Breast cancer is one of the most costly cancers to treat. The cost of treatments, not to mention the cost of transportation and lodging if they need to travel for treatment will send most of these women into a debt that can reach $3.14 billion. Avon’s Pink Hope collection raises money to help with these costs. We have even provided transportation to 340,000 patients to and from treatment and have provided over 32,000 patients with lodging when needed.

In its crusade against breast cancer Avon began educating millions of women about breast health and self exams. We also took it a step further and began funding mammograms and breast screenings to help women detect breast cancer early. Avon has now funded over 20 million mammograms and screenings.

Avon also works with various breast cancer charities. Through the Pink Hope collection sales and private donations Avon has donated over $800 million to these charities. We have also raised upwards of $1.3 million for the American Cancer Society.

In 2021, 15% of sales from the Pink Hope collection will be donated to breast cancer causes. The total amount is estimated to be about $700,000, but I think that we can do better. With your Pink Hope purchases you can significantly increase that number and help provide services to help prevent, detect, and treat breast cancer.
